I believe the Vietnam War was a big waste of time and a massive waste of not only money but American lives as well. some people believe that the internal conflicts and political battles didn't directly affect America. even though most of the experts and military officials generally agreed that communism violated democracy, the conflicts in Vietnam still had no direct effect on the U.S's government or the freedom that the American's enjoy. the cost of the Vietnam war was astronomical. this is primarily due to the fact that the U.S spent over 111 billion dollars, or 738 billion dollars according to 2010's standards. the Vietnam war was also one of the most devastating wars in American history. more than 137,654 Americans died in the Vietnam War. so in a big overview of everything, the Vietnam war was none of the U.S's business and we paid the price for it.
